About

Tillicum Campground is a small, higher elevation campground located in the Mt. Adams area of Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The wooded setting offers a quiet retreat and is especially popular during late summer when the surrounding forest produces abundant huckleberries for picking. The campground provides vault toilets and picnic tables, but no potable water is available, so campers must bring their own supply. Sites are first-come, first-served only and cannot be reserved in advance. Payment of $10 per night can be made by cash, check, or via the Recreation.gov Scan & Pay app. Holders of Interagency Senior or Access passes receive a 50% discount. Tillicum Trail #21 leads directly out of the campground, offering hiking opportunities into the surrounding backcountry. The maximum vehicle length is 18 feet, and the access road through the campground is rutted, making high clearance vehicles recommended. Pets are welcome but must remain on leash.

Directions

From Trout Lake, Washington, take State Highway 141 for over a mile to Trout Lake Creek Road and turn right. Stay on Forest Road 8851 to the intersection with Forest Road 24. Turn left onto Forest Road 24 and continue until you see the campground sign on the right.
