About
Goose Lake Campground sits along the shores of a popular fishing, boating, and swimming lake in the Mt. Adams area of Gifford Pinchot National Forest. This seasonal campground is especially well-suited for families with children, offering a stocked lake with regular fish plantings throughout the season and calm waters ideal for swimming and non-motorized boating. The campground features tent-only, walk-in sites located in level spots on a hillside that provide attractive views of the lake. Vehicle parking is available along the roadside, requiring a short walk to reach individual campsites. The facility operates on a first-come, first-served basis only, with no advance reservations available. The day use area includes parking, picnic tables, vault toilets, and a boat ramp for launching canoes, kayaks, and other non-motorized watercraft. Access to Goose Lake requires driving forest roads that are subject to seasonal winter closures. The campground is managed by ExplorUS concessionaire and typically operates from mid-May through mid-September. RVs are not recommended due to the walk-in tent site configuration and forest road conditions. Campers should bring their own drinking water as potable water is not available on-site.
