About

Cultus Creek Campground occupies a pristine forested setting at the edge of Indian Heaven Wilderness in the southern Cascades of Washington. The campground functions as a basecamp for backcountry exploration, with the trailhead for Indian Heaven Trail #33 located directly within the campground and Cultus Creek Trail #108 immediately adjacent. A free, self-issued wilderness permit is required when entering the wilderness. The area surrounding the campground includes traditional huckleberry picking fields, making it a popular destination during late summer berry season. Sites include fire rings and picnic tables. There is no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. Vault toilets are provided. This is a primitive campground with no hookups or electricity. Cell phone reception is poor. A $5 day-use fee applies to the trailheads, separate from the overnight camping fee. Northwest Forest Passes and Interagency Recreation Passes are honored for day use.

Directions

From Trout Lake, Washington, drive west on Highway 141. At the forest boundary, Highway 141 becomes Forest Road 24.
