About
Trout Lake Creek Campground is a small, scenic lower elevation campground located along Trout Lake Creek in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. This quiet campground features several campsites positioned directly on the banks of the creek, providing peaceful water sounds and easy access for fishing or relaxing. The surrounding forest comes alive with wildflowers during the growing season, and a short, easy trail leads from the main campground area to an additional remote campsite for those seeking more solitude. The campground serves as a convenient base camp for exploring the area's hiking opportunities, particularly the popular and challenging Sleeping Beauty Trail located approximately 4 miles away. The setting offers a peaceful retreat with light usage levels, making it an ideal spot for campers seeking a quieter experience. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations, and visitors can pay on-site with cash or using the Recreation.gov Scan and Pay mobile app feature. Access to the campground requires navigating Forest Road 8810, which is rough and not recommended for trailers or motor homes. The campground has no electricity, no hookups, and cell phone reception is poor. Drinking water is not available, so visitors must bring their own. Vault toilets are provided on-site.
