About

Falls Creek Horse Camp is a small, rustic equestrian campground nestled in an attractively wooded area of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Each of the limited sites includes a highline for securing horses, making this a dedicated facility for horse camping. The campground is situated adjacent to Forest Road 65, approximately 18 miles north of Carson, Washington, and provides direct access to an extensive trail network. The campground serves as a convenient staging area for exploring the Indian Heaven Wilderness via Race Track Trail #171, located directly across from the campground. A free wilderness permit, self-issued at the trailhead, is required for entry into the wilderness area. The interior road and campsites are gravel with narrow passages and very tight turns that lack adequate turning radius for large vehicles or trailers. This is a primitive horse camp with vault toilets and no potable water available on site. Campers must bring their own water for both personal use and livestock. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with no reservation system and no camping fees. Certified weed-free feed is required for horses. Wilderness regulations apply when entering the adjacent Indian Heaven Wilderness area.
