About
East Lemolo Campground sits along the southeast shore of Lemolo Lake, the highest reservoir on the North Umpqua River at 4,150 feet elevation. The campground features 15 informal campsites nestled in clearings within lodgepole pine forest, with several sites located just feet from the beach offering direct and unobstructed lake access. This makes it a favorite destination for anglers and water sports enthusiasts alike. Lemolo Lake provides year-round recreational opportunities in a stunning forested setting with a mountainous backdrop. The lake reaches depths of up to 100 feet and supports thriving populations of German brown trout, Eastern brook trout, rainbow trout, and kokanee salmon. In addition to excellent fishing from boat or shore, the lake is ideal for boating, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, and water skiing. Nearby Lemolo Falls Trail offers a steep descent into North Umpqua Canyon for views of the 150-foot waterfall. The campground is operated by a concessionaire under permit from the Umpqua National Forest. Facilities are basic with vault toilets and limited garbage service, so campers should be prepared to pack out trash. No potable water is available on-site, though drinking water can be found at nearby campgrounds. The area provides access to the Rogue-Umpqua National Scenic Byway and numerous hiking, mountain biking, and OHV trails within ten miles.
