About
The Narrows Picnic Shelter is a day-use group facility on Barren River Lake, managed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and reservable through Recreation.gov. The shelter features electric hookups and can accommodate up to 50 people with parking for 25 vehicles. A paved driveway provides easy drive-in access to this lakefront location. The shelter sits near The Narrows marina and boat launch, making it convenient for groups combining a picnic event with boating, fishing, tubing, skiing, or wakeboarding on the lake. Anglers can fish from the shoreline among weeping willows or venture by boat to quiet spots at Coon, Green, Beaver, or Skaggs Creek. The Lindsey Nature Trail is accessible from the area, offering hikers views from steep limestone cliffs overlooking the lake. This is a day-use facility only, not an overnight campground. For overnight camping at Barren River Lake, The Narrows Campground is a separate facility nearby.
