About
Located on the northeast section of Barren River Lake in south-central Kentucky, Beaver Creek is a primitive recreation area tucked away behind a small island. The area provides scenic views of the 10,000-acre lake and access to excellent fishing in the surrounding creeks including Coon, Green, and Skaggs Creek. When camping operations were active, Beaver Creek offered 12 primitive tent-only sites using a first-come-first-served Scan&Pay system through the Recreation.gov app. Sites featured basic amenities including pit toilets and a centralized water hydrant. The campground was designed for tent campers seeking a quieter, more secluded experience compared to the larger developed campgrounds at Barren River Lake. The area provides a boat ramp for lake access, a swimming beach, picnic areas, and a playground. Nearby attractions include the National Corvette Museum, Kentucky Down Under, Diamond Caverns, and Mammoth Cave National Park approximately 40 minutes north.
