About

Mammoth Cave Campground sits at the heart of Mammoth Cave National Park, placing campers within a five-minute walk of the visitor center where tours of the world's longest known cave system begin daily. The campground contains 111 sites across four paved loops (A, B, C, D), offering a mix of standard and tent-only configurations. Each site includes a fire ring with cooking grate and a picnic table. Flush restrooms with lighted walkways serve each loop. Seasonal amenities include potable water spigots in each loop, coin-operated hot showers behind the Caver's Camp Store, and a dump station in the camp store parking lot. The camp store sells firewood, ice, and basic supplies. Transporting firewood into the park is prohibited due to Emerald Ash Borer quarantine. Two VIP sites provide full water, sewer, and electric hookups and are available first-come, first-served only. The campground doubles as a gateway to 14 miles of hiking and biking trails. Deer and turkeys frequently graze through camp at dawn and dusk. The Green River flows within walking distance, and commercial outfitters outside the park rent canoes and kayaks for paddling the nearly 30 miles of river running through the park.
