About
Teton Canyon Campground occupies a prime location at 6,500 feet elevation along Teton Creek, where dense conifer forests meet wildflower meadows beneath partial views of the Teton Range. The campground offers 13 single-family sites and 2 equestrian sites, each with picnic tables, fire rings, grills, and bear-proof food lockers. Vault toilets and potable water are available, and firewood is sold on-site. Trails depart directly from the campground into the Jedediah Smith Wilderness, with popular routes leading to Alaska Basin and Table Mountain. A horse staging area at the trailhead parking accommodates equestrian users. Teton Creek provides quality fishing for brook and Yellowstone cutthroat trout. Grand Targhee Resort lies 11 miles away, hosting summer music festivals including Targhee Fest in mid-July and the Bluegrass Festival in mid-August. The resort offers lift-served hiking, mountain biking, and an 18-hole disc golf course. Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks are within a few hours' drive.
