Womack Creek Campground provides a rustic riverside camping experience in Florida's Tate's Hell State Forest, roughly 12 miles north of Carrabelle. The 12-site campground divides into 8 tent-only sites and 4 RV/tent sites equipped with 30-amp and 50-amp electric hookups. A bathhouse offers flush toilets and warm showers, and each site includes a fire ring and picnic table. A boat ramp provides direct access to the Ochlockonee River for fishing, kayaking, and canoeing. The forest spans over 200,000 acres of coastal flatwoods, swamps, and river corridors. Cell service is weak or nonexistent throughout the forest, and navigation requires a GPS device or geo-referenced PDF map. Dirt road access to the campground is subject to weather impacts; standing water can make roads impassable after heavy rain. Water available at the campground is non-potable, so campers must bring adequate drinking water. All sites require advance reservations through FloridaStateForests.ReserveAmerica.com. Alcohol is prohibited in the campground. The area supports activities including fishing, boating, hiking, bird watching, wildlife photography, and horseback riding. Alligators are present along waterways, particularly active May through October.

Directions

From CR 67, turn east onto Rock Landing Road and travel approximately 2.3 miles. Turn left onto Jeff Sanders Road; the campground entrance is about 2.5 miles ahead on the left.
