About
Mack Landing Campground is a quiet, primitive camping area located on a ridge overlooking the Ochlockonee River within the Apalachicola National Forest. The campground features approximately 10 campsites that can accommodate both tents and RVs, though no electrical hookups are provided. Each site includes a picnic table and fire ring situated under a canopy of tall trees, offering shade and a natural setting. The campground provides access to the Ochlockonee River via a concrete boat ramp, making it popular with boaters and anglers. The river offers excellent fishing opportunities and scenic paddling experiences. Basic amenities include well water and vault toilets. A camp host is present from October through March to assist visitors. Mack Landing serves as a hunt camp during general gun season, and non-hunters may camp during this period but should be aware of hunting activity in the surrounding forest. The standard 14-day camping limit is not enforced during general gun season. The campground is open year-round with quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Located about 10 miles northwest of Sopchoppy via County Road 375, this campground offers a peaceful retreat for those seeking a back-to-nature camping experience.
