About

Sycamore Cabin provides a unique lodging experience in the Prescott National Forest. Built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1938, the cabin originally served as a residence for the district ranger and later housed fire crews during fire season. Today it offers year-round accommodations for up to eight guests seeking a rustic yet comfortable retreat in central Arizona. The cabin sits at 4,000 feet elevation on the edge of Sycamore Creek, providing access to a riparian area right outside the back door. Sleeping accommodations include a double bed, two sets of bunk beds, and a pull-out sofa. The kitchen is equipped with an electric range, refrigerator, sink, and basic cookware. Climate control includes gas heating, air conditioning, and a wood stove. A propane BBQ is available outside but guests must supply their own tank. The fenced yard features a picnic table and outdoor fire ring. Equestrian visitors can use the corral area which accommodates up to four horses with certified weed-free feed required. The area offers excellent hiking with access to the Great Western Trail, plus fishing opportunities in nearby streams. Wildlife in the area includes mule deer, javelina, and various bird species.
