Sweetwater Bridge Campground

Open

Open year-round on a first-come, first-served basis. No fees or reservations. Access may be limited during winter due to snowpack on the unpaved roads leading to the campground.

About

Sweetwater Bridge Campground is one of seven recreation areas along the Wind River Front, managed by the BLM Rock Springs Field Office. This small, fee-free campground provides a quiet base for exploring the Sweetwater River corridor and surrounding high desert landscape. The eight primitive sites include six drive-up accessible sites with compacted gravel parking spurs and two walk-in campsites, with two of the drive-up sites being pull-through. Each site is equipped with a fire ring featuring a grill attachment and a picnic table designed to accommodate wheelchair users. The campground has an accessible double vault toilet but no potable water, so campers should arrive fully self-sufficient. No reservations are accepted; all sites are first-come, first-served. The campground sits at roughly 7,000 feet elevation along a remote BLM road network. While officially open year-round, winter access can be limited by snowpack on the unpaved approach roads.
