Dutch Joe Campground

Open

Open year-round, though access roads may be impassable due to snow from late fall through late spring. First-come, first-served with a 14-day stay limit. No reservations.

About

Dutch Joe Campground is a primitive, undeveloped camping area managed by the Bureau of Land Management's Rock Springs Field Office. Located in the remote Wind River Range of western Wyoming, the site provides direct access to the U.S. Forest Service-managed Bridger Wilderness, one of Wyoming's premier backcountry destinations. As an undeveloped camping area, there are no improved facilities such as toilets, potable water, trash receptacles, or designated sites. Campers should arrive fully self-sufficient, prepared to pack out all trash and bring their own water supply. Access requires navigating a low-water creek crossing, which may be impassable during spring runoff or after heavy rain. The campground is fee-free with a 14-day maximum stay limit. No reservations are accepted; camping is first-come, first-served. The remote location and primitive conditions make this site best suited for experienced backcountry travelers with high-clearance vehicles.
