About
Swauk Campground sits at elevation in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest along Highway 97, approximately 26 miles east of Cle Elum. The campground is nestled in a beautiful grove of mature Ponderosa Pine and western Larch trees, creating a peaceful setting for campers. With 19 single campsites, 2 double campsites, and a picnic shelter, the campground accommodates moderate use during its operating season. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis only with no advance reservations. Visitors can pay on-site using cash or check, or by scanning a QR code via the Recreation.gov mobile app where available. Each campsite includes a table and fire pit. Drinking water is available from a hand pump, and vault toilets serve the campground. Single sites cost $20 per night and double sites are $26 per night, with a 50% discount available for Interagency Senior or Access Pass holders on single sites only. During winter months, the Swauk area transforms into a Sno-Park offering 57 miles of marked, ungroomed cross-country ski and snowshoe trails with connections to Pipe Creek and Blewett Pass Sno-Parks. The campground provides access to the Swauk Discovery Trail and other recreational opportunities throughout the year when open.
