Swauk Campground
Currently closed for the season. Opens May 22 for first-come, first-served camping through late September. No potable water available; bring your own supply.
About
Swauk Campground sits at 3,200 feet elevation in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, surrounded by mature Ponderosa pine and western larch trees. The campground offers 19 single campsites and 2 double campsites, all available on a first-come, first-served basis. A group picnic shelter is also available for day use. The campground provides vault toilets but no potable water, so campers must bring their own supply. Payment is made on-site using the Recreation.gov mobile app's Scan and Pay feature. Download the app before arrival, as cellular service is limited in the area. Nearby recreation includes day hiking and the 3/4-mile trail to Sculpture Rock for scenic viewing. In winter, the area transforms into Swauk Sno-Park with 57 miles of marked cross-country ski and snowshoe trails.
Directions
From Cle Elum, WA travel east on Highway 970/97 for approximately 26 miles. Campground is on the right.
