Table Mountain Cabin

About

Table Mountain Cabin, situated at an elevation exceeding 6,000 feet in the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, offers a unique lodging experience amidst a forest of subalpine fir, lodgepole pine, and Engelmann spruce. Originally constructed in the 1960s for Boeing's high-elevation electronic testing, the A-frame cabin transitioned to Forest Service ownership upon the conclusion of Boeing's permit. The cabin is accessible by car from July through mid-October. During winter months, from mid-December through early April, access requires parking at the Blewett Pass Sno-Park and traveling 7.5 miles via snowmobile, skiing, or snowshoeing, with a 2,200-foot elevation gain. Amenities are limited; guests must bring their own drinking water and other supplies. Entry is via combination lock; guests should contact the Cle Elum Ranger Station at (509) 852-1100 two business days prior to arrival for the combination. Cell phone service is unreliable, and the nearest services are over 35 miles away. Guests are expected to pack out all food and garbage, and to clean the cabin upon departure. Pets should not roam freely to protect local wildlife and plants. The cabin is a no-smoking facility. Fire restrictions may apply; guests should check current conditions before having any campfires. Protecting the forest from invasive species is crucial; guests are encouraged to obtain and burn firewood near their camping destination.

Directions

From Highway 97 at Blewett Pass summit, turn south onto Forest Service Road (FSR) 9716. Follow FSR 9716 for approximately 3 miles to the junction of FSR 9712. Turn left onto FSR 9712 and continue for about 1.5 miles to the junction with FSR 3500. Turn right onto FSR 3500 and proceed approximately 2.2 miles to the cabin. The gate is on the left side of the road, and the cabin is approximately 200 yards beyond the gate.
