About

De Roux Trailhead is a small, primitive campground in the Cle Elum Ranger District of the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. Situated at 3,800 feet elevation at the end of Forest Road 9737, this site serves dual purposes as both a trailhead and overnight camping area. The facility is particularly suited for equestrian users, featuring hitching posts and dedicated camping areas for horses with steel poles to attach highlines. The trailhead provides access to De Roux Trail #1392 and De Roux Spur Trail #1392.1, offering routes into the upper Middle Fork Teanaway country and the scenic Esmeralda Basin. Facilities are basic, consisting of a vault toilet only. There is no potable water, so campers must pack in all drinking water. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis with on-site payment available via the Recreation.gov Scan and Pay app.
