About
Swanson Campground offers a quiet, shaded retreat in the pine forests of Sierra National Forest, located approximately 3 miles from the recreational hub of Shaver Lake. The campground provides basic amenities typical of national forest sites: vault toilets, picnic tables, and fire rings with grills at each campsite. A campground host is present during the operating season. Potable water is not available, so campers must bring an adequate supply. The nearby town of Shaver Lake provides convenient access to restaurants, fuel, groceries, and fishing supplies. Popular activities in the area include fishing, boating, swimming, and hiking at Shaver Lake. Access is via paved and dirt roads off Dinkey Creek Road. The campground enforces a 25-foot maximum vehicle length, 14-day stay limit, and 6-person maximum per site. Single sites are $32 per night and double sites are $61 per night.
Directions
Take Highway 168 east from Clovis toward Shaver Lake. Before reaching the town, turn right onto Dinkey Creek Road. Travel 3 miles east to Swanson Campground.
