About

Dinkey Creek Campground is spread out along the banks of its namesake creek in a thick forest of Ponderosa pines and cedars in the Sierra National Forest. The high country setting at 5,900 feet elevation offers a scenic destination with trees, streams, and open space. The campground has 127 individual sites plus one group site that accommodates up to 50 people. Two natural swimming areas, The Slicks and Honeymoon Pool, feature pools carved out of granite and are popular during summer months. Anglers can fish Dinkey Creek for brown and rainbow trout. The Dinkey Creek Trail provides hiking access, and mountain bikers have trail options in the area. McKinley Grove, famous for its giant redwoods, is just 6 miles away. All sites have paved spurs, picnic tables, and fire grills. The campground provides both flush and vault toilets, potable water, and accessible showers when the nearby Dinkey Creek Inn is open. This is bear country with no cell service; food must be stored properly. The Dinkey Creek Inn nearby offers supplies and a cafe.
