About
Lower Billy Creek Campground occupies a prime spot on Huntington Lake at approximately 7,000 feet elevation in the Sierra National Forest. The campground's 10 sites are shaded by dense fir and pine trees, with each site providing scenic lake views. Amenities include paved parking spurs, picnic tables, campfire rings, food storage lockers, vault toilets, and potable drinking water. The location makes it an excellent base for exploring the Kaiser Wilderness and enjoying Huntington Lake's recreational opportunities including swimming, non-motorized boating, and lake fishing. The Billy Creek Guard Station museum adjacent to the campground offers historical exhibits on Huntington Lake, Native Americans, and Forest Service history. The marina is within easy reach for supplies and boat rentals. Note that while drinking water is available, RV water tanks cannot be filled at the campground. Visitors should arrive with full tanks. Bear-proof food storage is required and firewood importation restrictions apply to prevent pest spread.
