About

Susquehannock State Park sits atop a wooded plateau overlooking the Lower Susquehanna River in southern Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. The 224-acre main park is part of a nearly 450-acre complex that provides stunning views and access to the river gorge area. The park is known for its scenic overlooks, including Hawk Point and Wissler's Run, offering panoramic views of the Susquehanna. The campground consists of four rustic organized group tenting sites designed for youth groups, scout troops, and other qualified organizations. Site capacities range from 20 to 100 campers. Facilities at the group camping area include fire rings, grills, picnic tables, pit toilets, and potable water. No electric hookups are available at the group tent sites. Two pavilions with flush toilets and 10-amp electric service are also available and can accommodate up to 72 people each. Activities in the park include hiking, horseback riding, wildlife watching, and sightseeing. The area is popular with birdwatchers, particularly during fall raptor migration season. Cell service can be unreliable, so visitors should download maps before arriving.
