Blue Marsh Lake Day Use Area
This is a day-use only facility with no overnight camping. The area is open for day-use picnic shelter reservations. Hours are 8 a.m. until one hour before posted closure.

Located 7 miles northwest of Reading, Pennsylvania, the Dry Brooks Day Use Area at Blue Marsh Lake is a day-use facility operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The area features three group picnic shelters available for reservation: Lakeview, Hillside, and Vista. Each shelter includes picnic tables and grills with restrooms nearby. Lakeview and Hillside shelters have water and electricity, while Vista shelter does not. Blue Marsh Lake encompasses over 5,000 acres of land and 1,147 acres of water, offering extensive recreational opportunities. The lake is unlimited horsepower for boating and waterskiing, with paddle craft also popular. A 30-mile multi-use trail system permits hiking, biking, and horseback riding. The Dry Brooks area includes a swimming beach within walking distance of the shelters. This is strictly a day-use facility with no overnight camping permitted. Reservations are valid from 8 a.m. until one hour before the posted closure time. A Special Use Permit is required for baptisms, ceremonies, or other large events.

Blue Marsh Lake is located 7 miles northwest of Reading, PA. Take Route 183 north and make a left on Palisades Dr. Travel one mile and the Dry Brooks Day Use Area will be on your right.
