About

Susan Creek Campground occupies a stunning location on the western edge of the Cascade Mountains along the famous North Umpqua Wild and Scenic River. The 29 campsites are nestled under a mature forest canopy with trees reaching seven feet in diameter, providing ample shade and a secluded atmosphere. The emerald-green river rushes over volcanic bedrock just steps from the campsites, creating a constant natural soundtrack. Facilities include flush restrooms, five shower stalls (one ADA-accessible), seven drinking water spigots throughout the campground, and an amphitheater where BLM staff present educational programs on summer weekends. Each site features a paved parking spur, picnic table, and fire ring. The campground accommodates vehicles up to 48 feet. The location offers excellent access to recreation. The Susan Creek Falls Trail departs from the campground and winds through diverse forest to a scenic waterfall. The 79-mile North Umpqua Trail is accessible by trail or road for hiking and mountain biking. The river supports fly-fishing only, with salmon and steelhead runs in spring and fall. Whitewater rafting and kayaking are popular on this stretch of river.
