About

Sunset Bay State Park is situated in one of the most scenic areas on the Oregon coast, featuring a sheltered crescent-shaped bay with sandy beaches protected by towering sandstone sea cliffs. The year-round campground offers diverse camping options including 25 full-hookup sites with sewer, electricity, and water, 32 electrical sites with water, 65 tent sites with water nearby, and 8 yurts, four of which are pet-friendly. The campground features paved parking, modern amenities including flush toilets and hot showers, and each site includes a picnic table and fire pit. The bay's calm, protected waters make it one of the few safe ocean swimming areas on the Oregon coast, and the beach is excellent for beachcombing, fishing, and boating. Scenic trails connect the park to nearby Shore Acres State Park with its famous botanical gardens and Cape Arago State Park, creating opportunities for extended coastal exploration. The park offers interpretive programs including guided tidepool walks, nature walks, and ranger-led activities during summer months. Three ADA-accessible campsites and three accessible yurts accommodate campers with disabilities.
