About
Sunny Point Park is a day-use recreation area operated by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers on the scenic shoreline of West Point Lake. Located west of LaGrange, Georgia, the park provides convenient access to the lake's 525 miles of shoreline along the Chattahoochee River. The primary feature is the Sunny Point Group Shelter, a reservable lakefront facility equipped with five picnic tables, a grill, and restroom access. The shelter accommodates groups of 1 to 30 people and can be reserved through Recreation.gov. Check-in is at 9:00 AM and check-out is at 9:00 PM. The park offers year-round boat launching facilities for lake access, numerous picnic sites throughout the grounds, and excellent bank fishing opportunities. Note that this is a day-use area only with no overnight camping. Commercial activities, golf carts, UTVs, ATVs, and dirt bikes are prohibited. Pets must be kept on a leash under six feet.
Directions
