About

Summit Lake Campground sits on the shore of a striking 7-acre emerald-colored lake in the Colville National Forest of northeast Washington. This fee-free primitive campground caters to tent campers seeking a quiet backcountry experience. Facilities are minimal with just one vault toilet and no picnic tables or fire rings. Campers must treat or filter water from the lake and pack out all trash. The lake reaches 35 feet deep and supports populations of eastern brook and rainbow trout. A boat launch accommodates small vessels. Three additional lakes within 10 miles provide day-trip fishing opportunities. A Washington state fishing license is required. The access road is rough and not suitable for trailers or RVs. Quiet hours are enforced from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., and stays are limited to 14 days. Pets must be on leash, fireworks are prohibited, and food must be stored properly to avoid attracting wildlife.
