About
Evans Group Camp sits along the northern shoreline of Lake Roosevelt on the Columbia River, making it the most northern reservable campground on this 130-mile lake. The campground is part of Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area, managed by the National Park Service. The site features a long, narrow orientation that provides clear, unobstructed views of the lake from every location. The single group campsite accommodates up to 25 people and is surrounded by thick forests of ponderosa pine, douglas fir and maple trees that provide ample shade. A boat launch provides year-round access to the lake for boating, fishing, swimming and water skiing. The area is abundant with wildlife, including moose, elk, deer and bald eagles. The lake is home to walleye, bass, rainbow trout, salmon and sturgeon. Much of the water in Lake Roosevelt originates from glaciers and snow in the Canadian Rockies, though temperatures are pleasant for swimming during summer months. The campground is accessible via Highway 25, approximately 11 miles north of Kettle Falls.
Directions
From Spokane, take Washington State Highway 395 north for 83 miles to Kettle Falls. Take Highway 25 north and travel 11 miles. Follow signs to the campground on the west side of the highway.
