Summit Creek Campground was once a small, primitive campground situated on a flat area between Summit Creek and Forest Road 4510 in Gifford Pinchot National Forest. The site sat at approximately 2,350 feet elevation in a mid-elevation forest of Douglas fir, western hemlock, and red cedar. Before its closure, the campground offered six tent-only or small camper sites. The campground has been permanently decommissioned by the U.S. Forest Service. All facilities have been removed and vehicular access to the former campground is no longer available. The site is no longer maintained or operated as a camping area. Campers looking for developed camping in this area of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest have alternatives nearby. La Wis Wis Campground on US Highway 12, approximately 7 miles east of Packwood, and Soda Spring Campground on Forest Road 4510 are options in the local area.

Directions

From Packwood, WA, proceed northeast on US Highway 12 for approximately 9 miles to Forest Road 45. Turn left on Forest Road 45 and proceed 0.35 miles to Forest Road 4510. Continue straight on Forest Road 4510 for 1.8 miles to the former Summit Creek Campground location. Note: vehicular access to the site is no longer available.
