About

Lodgepole Campground is located in the Northern Cascade Range of Washington within the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest, positioned along the scenic Highway 410 corridor near the American River. The campground provides convenient access to Mount Rainier National Park's northwest entrance and serves as a basecamp for exploring the surrounding wilderness areas including the Goat Rocks Wilderness. The American River adjacent to the campground supports rainbow, brook, and cutthroat trout, making it popular with anglers. The slow, peaceful river also offers swimming for those willing to brave its cold waters. Nearby trailheads include Crow Lake, Swamp Lake, Cougar Valley, and Union Creek, plus access to the Pacific Crest Trail. Boulder Cave National Recreation Trail is another popular destination in the area. The campground features 34 sites accommodating both tents and small RVs/trailers up to 20 feet. Facilities include vault toilets and potable water available from hand pumps. There are no electrical hookups. Be aware that Thatcher ants inhabit this campground with large anthills scattered throughout; tent campers should take particular care as bites can be harmful to humans and pets.

Directions

From Naches, WA, travel west on Highway 12 for 4.4 miles. Continue straight onto Highway 410 West for 39.5 miles to near milepost 76. The campground is on the right (north) side of the highway.
