Sugarloaf Lake Campground is located within Waterloo State Recreation Area, the largest state park in Michigan's Lower Peninsula. The modern campground offers 164 spacious, electric sites in an open and sunny environment along the shores of Sugarloaf Lake. Each site includes either 30- or 50-amp electrical service, picnic tables, and fire pits. The campground features a designated campers-only swimming area on Sugarloaf Lake, a boat launch for easy water access, and watercraft rentals available on-site. Modern amenities include flush restrooms with showers, a sanitation station for RVs, trash disposal, and potable water throughout the campground. The campground also offers a playground for families and includes some paved sites and accessible facilities. Some sites can accommodate larger RVs with 50-amp service. Waterloo State Recreation Area encompasses 11 inland lakes and offers extensive recreational opportunities including hiking trails, mountain biking, fishing, and wildlife viewing. The park hosts seasonal events including the annual Harvest Festival in October. The campground is conveniently located near Chelsea, Michigan, providing easy access to both outdoor recreation and nearby town amenities.

Directions

From I-94, take exit 153 for Clear Lake Road. Head north on Clear Lake Road for approximately 4 miles, then turn right onto Loveland Road. Continue for about 1 mile to reach the campground entrance on the left.
