About

Sugarloaf Lake Campground sits within Waterloo State Recreation Area, the largest state park in Michigan's Lower Peninsula. The campground offers 164 electric campsites arranged around Sugarloaf Lake, providing convenient access to swimming, fishing, and non-motorized boating. Each site includes electric hookups with 30 or 50-amp service, a picnic table, and a fire ring. Facilities include a modern bathhouse with flush toilets and showers, potable water, and a dump station. A designated swim beach and boat launch provide lake access, and watercraft rentals are available on-site for campers. The campground also features an ADA-accessible tiny house with lake views. The surrounding recreation area encompasses over 20,000 acres with opportunities for hiking, mountain biking on the DTE Energy Foundation Trail, fishing across multiple lakes, and seasonal hunting. The Eddy Discovery Center offers nature programs and exhibits.
