About

Bishop Lake Campground is the primary camping destination within Brighton Recreation Area, a 4,947-acre park in southeast Michigan featuring nine lakes, five campgrounds, and extensive recreational opportunities. The campground provides 144 modern campsites equipped with 20/30-amp electrical hookups, though water hookups are not available at individual sites. Drinking water spigots are distributed throughout the campground, and a sanitary dump station serves RV campers. Facilities include modern restroom buildings with private shower rooms. Each campsite comes with a fire ring and picnic table. The campground connects to the Bishop Lake accessible trail, a 1-mile hard-surface path suitable for bicycles and mobility devices. An accessible fishing pier and kayak launch are located nearby. Recreational opportunities include swimming at the designated beach, paddlesport rentals at the Bishop Lake Boating Access Site, disc golf, and hiking trails. A Recreation Passport is required for vehicle entry.
