WEATHER... * An arctic front sweeping through the area will produce moderate to briefly heavy snow showers this morning reducing visibility to under a mile and producing a quick coating of snow on untreated roadways. * West winds around 10 mph gusting to 30 mph will result in localized blowing snow during the morning commute. * Widely varying snowfall is expected. Snow accumulations of up to a half inch are expected in areas impacted between 630 am and 830 am EST. * Air temperatures will remain steady around 17 degrees. IMPACTS... * Blowing snow will result in rapid reductions of visibility to less than one mile. * The West winds may lead to drifting of snow on North to South orientated roadways particularly in locations with open exposure.

The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes.

Blind Lake Rustic Campground is a hike-in backcountry camping destination located approximately halfway along the scenic 17-mile Potawatomi Trail in Pinckney Recreation Area. The campground features 10 rustic campsites equipped with fire rings, providing an authentic wilderness experience in southeastern Michigan's glacially-formed landscape. The campground is accessible only by hiking, offering solitude and immersion in nature. Basic amenities include vault toilets and hand-pump water access. Campers are restricted to using only dead and downed timber for campfires. All visitors must check in at the park office located at 8555 Silver Hill Road in Pinckney on the day of their reservation. Reservations can be made through MiDNRReservations.com, with day-of arrivals accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. The campground operates under a one-night stay limit. The Potawatomi Trail system provides extensive hiking and mountain biking opportunities, with the looped trail design allowing for varied routes without backtracking. A Michigan Recreation Passport is required for park entry.

Accessible only by hiking along the Potawatomi Trail. Check in required at Pinckney Recreation Area headquarters at 8555 Silver Hill Road, Pinckney, MI 48169 on the day of reservation before hiking to campground.
