About

Crooked Lake Rustic Campground sits within the 11,000-acre Pinckney Recreation Area in Washtenaw County, Michigan. The 25-site campground occupies a quiet spot on Crooked Lake, accessible via a dirt road off Silver Hill Road. Sites are equipped with fire rings and picnic tables, while shared facilities include vault toilets and a single hand-pump well for drinking water. The campground provides direct lake access through a dirt boat launch and wooden floating pier, making it well-suited for fishing and kayaking. Crooked Lake offers good fishing opportunities, and kayak rentals are available at the campground. The Crooked Lake Trail connects to 26 miles of multi-use trails in the recreation area, popular for mountain biking and backpacking with backcountry campsites along the route. As a rustic campground, there are no electrical hookups, showers, or dump station. The isolated setting and basic amenities attract campers looking for a more primitive experience within easy reach of Ann Arbor and Brighton.
