Straits State Park Campground

Straits State Park Campground occupies a prime location along Lake Huron in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, just minutes from the Mackinac Bridge and ferry access to Mackinac Island. The park features three campground loops: the upper loop and two lower loops (east and west), with waterfront sites in the lower area offering unobstructed views of the Straits of Mackinac and the bridge. The campground provides 273 total sites, with 255 featuring electric hookups ranging from 20/30-amp to some 50-amp service. Lower loop nonwaterfront sites have full electrical service, while waterfront sites are semi-modern without electric but with access to modern facilities. Recently constructed bathhouses offer flush toilets, showers with private stalls, and dishwashing stations. Sanitation stations with dump facilities and potable water are located in both the upper and lower loops. Two accessible mini cabins in the lower east loop sleep four and include bunkbeds, table and chairs, mini refrigerator, and electrical outlets. The park is pet-friendly with standard Michigan state park rules requiring a 6-foot leash. Campfires are permitted in designated fire rings only; firewood is available for purchase on-site.

Directions

From I-75, take exit 348 (US-2) toward St. Ignace. Head west on US-2 and turn right onto Church Street. The park entrance is at 720 Church Street, St. Ignace.
