About
Tannery Creek Modern Campground is one of two campgrounds at Petoskey State Park, situated along the beautiful shores of Little Traverse Bay on Lake Michigan. The campground features 98 modern sites with paved camping pads, making it suitable for RVs of various sizes including pull-through sites. All sites come equipped with 20- and 30-amp electric service, and a handful of sites offer 50-amp hookups for larger rigs. The campground provides easy access to the park's mile-long sandy beach, perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and searching for the famous Petoskey stones. An overflow parking area accommodates additional vehicles and guests. Modern amenities include toilet and shower buildings, a sanitation station near the park entrance, and recycling facilities. Two mini cabins named Trillium and Orchid are also located within the campground. Petoskey State Park offers excellent recreational opportunities including the Old Baldy Trail with panoramic views, the Portage Trail through wooded dunes, and connections to the 26-mile paved Little Traverse Wheelway. The park is centrally located between the charming beach towns of Petoskey and Harbor Springs, both just minutes away. Note that pets are not allowed along most of the lakeshore due to piping plover habitat protection, though they are welcome in other park areas on a six-foot leash.
