Straight Lake Campground is located within Straight Lake State Park, a 2,780-acre undeveloped wilderness area in Polk County, Wisconsin. The campground features 10 rustic, hike-in tent sites spaced at least 400 feet apart, providing exceptional privacy and solitude. Distances from the parking area to individual campsites range from a few hundred feet to 0.3 miles. Carts are available at the campground parking lot from May 1 through October 31 to help transport gear. The park practices a strict carry-in/carry-out policy, and campers must bring their own water as no water source is available at the campground. Glass containers are prohibited throughout the park. The campground is open year-round, though the parking lot is not plowed during winter months; winter campers can park at the day-use area and walk to their sites. Gathering dead and downed wood for campfires is permitted, though firewood is not sold within the park. Straight Lake State Park features two wild glacial lakes, Straight Lake and Rainbow Lake, accessible via carry-in boat launches. The park is traversed by a premier segment of the Ice Age National Scenic Trail and offers excellent opportunities for hiking, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and stargazing far from city lights. The park's remote, undisturbed character makes it one of Wisconsin's quietest state parks.

Directions

From the north, take 270 Avenue east from Highway 35. From the south, take County Road GG/120th Street north from Highway 48. The park is located near the village of Luck in Polk County.
