Stirrup Campground is part of the larger Letts Lake Campground complex in Mendocino National Forest, located 19 miles west of Stonyford. This small loop offers 5 campsites (numbered 28-32) equipped with fire rings and picnic tables. The campground sits alongside a 35-acre mountain lake that provides excellent opportunities for trout fishing, swimming, and non-motorized boating. The main attraction is the lake itself, which features a fully accessible fishing pier and a one-mile shoreline trail. Vault toilets serve the area, and potable water is available during the summer operating season (typically Memorial Day through Labor Day). Access roads and sites can accommodate camping trailers up to 30 feet. This is a first-come, first-served campground with no advance reservations. Campers pay on-site via QR code using the Recreation.gov mobile app. The setting is quiet and relatively undeveloped, with OHV riding prohibited in the campground area.
