OHV Trail 34 is closed due to trail tread degradation and rutting that runs 300 feet down the trail. The trail is unsafe due to unstable soil, extremely muddy conditions and increased runoff.

About

Mill Valley Campground sits at approximately 3,900 feet elevation in the Grindstone District of Mendocino National Forest, offering 15 campsites designed for OHV recreation. Located one mile north of Letts Lake and 17 miles west of Stonyford off Road 17N02, the campground features recently renovated facilities including new picnic tables, fire rings, and barrier systems. Each site can accommodate up to two vehicles and medium-sized trailers up to 24 feet. The campground serves as a hub for off-highway vehicle enthusiasts, with an OHV trail leading directly in and out of the campground and access to the extensive trail system in the Stonyford Recreation Area. The surrounding landscape features mixed coniferous forest with chaparral. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis year-round, with fees of $10 per night during the main season (May-September, Memorial Day to Labor Day) and $5 per night during the off-season. Facilities include vault toilets and picnic tables with fire rings at each site. Water is turned off for the winter season, so campers must bring their own. The campground now offers Scan & Pay technology for convenient payment via QR code at the kiosk. During the summer months, trash services are provided, but during winter, campers must pack out all garbage. Quiet hours are enforced from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., with check-in at 2:00 p.m. and check-out at 11:00 a.m.
