About

Dixie Glade Campground offers a quiet basecamp for exploring the Snow Mountain Wilderness in Mendocino National Forest. Located at approximately 4,000 feet elevation amid ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, and oak woodland, the campground provides seven primitive sites with tables, grills, and vault toilets. No potable water is available, so campers must bring their own supply. The campground is particularly well-suited for equestrian use, featuring corrals and hitching posts for packstock animals. A short 0.8-mile trail connects directly to the Deafy Glade Trail, providing backcountry access to the Snow Mountain Wilderness. OHV riding is prohibited within the campground, though the Fouts Springs OHV area lies nearby. Sites are first-come, first-served with self-registration via the Recreation.gov mobile app's Scan and Pay feature. The campground operates seasonally from Memorial Day through Labor Day at $5 per night, with free camping during the off-season when accessible.

Directions

Located 14 miles west of Stonyford on Fouts Springs Road (Forest Road M10). The campground sits just above the Fouts Springs OHV area.
