About
Spillway Campground is one of four loops comprising Letts Lake Campground in the Mendocino National Forest's Stonyford Recreation Area, located 19 miles west of Stonyford at approximately 4,500 feet elevation. This loop contains 9 campsites numbered 34 through 42, each equipped with a fire ring and picnic table, situated among mature conifers and manzanita with some sites offering lake views. The centerpiece of the area is the 35-acre Letts Lake, which permits only non-motorized vessels and is stocked with trout. A one-mile trail encircles the lake, connecting the four campground loops. The recreation area features accessible vault restrooms and a popular fully-accessible fishing pier. Swimming is permitted in the lake during warmer months. The campground operates on a first-come, first-served basis only, with no advance reservations accepted. Check-in is at 2:00 p.m. and check-out at 11:00 a.m., with quiet hours from 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. A maximum of two vehicles are permitted per site, and OHV riding is not allowed in the campground. Payment can be made on-site via the Recreation.gov mobile app using Scan & Pay at the campground kiosk.

Located 19 miles west of Stonyford in the Mendocino National Forest. Access may be difficult in winter due to snow and ice conditions. High clearance vehicle recommended; four-wheel drive or chains may be required in winter.
