About
Main Letts Campground sits along a 35-acre lake in the Mendocino National Forest, 19 miles west of Stonyford. The campground is one of four loops at the Letts Lake recreation area, offering 18 numbered campsites each equipped with a fire ring and picnic table. The lake is designated for non-motorized watercraft only, making it a peaceful destination for kayakers, canoeists, and float tubers. The primary draws are trout fishing and swimming in the clear mountain lake. A popular fully-accessible fishing pier extends into the water, and a one-mile trail follows the shoreline for easy hiking. Vault toilets serve the area, with accessible restrooms available. Potable water is provided from faucets during the peak season (May through September) but is turned off during colder months. All sites operate on a first-come, first-served basis with no advance reservations. Check-in is at 2:00 p.m. and check-out at 11:00 a.m. A maximum of two vehicles are permitted per site. OHV riding is prohibited within the campground. Payment can be made via the Recreation.gov mobile app's Scan & Pay feature.
Directions
Located 19 miles west of Stonyford via M10 Road (Forest Road 17N02). From Stonyford, head west on Fouts Springs Road which becomes M10. Road conditions should be verified before travel as the route is prone to seasonal closures and mudslides.
