About
Steinaker State Park sits at 5,520 feet elevation along the shores of Steinaker Reservoir, a popular destination for boating, fishing, and water sports in Utah's Dinosaurland region near Vernal. The campground offers 30 sites ranging from full hookup RV sites with electric, water, and sewer to electric-only partial hookups and primitive dry camping. Pull-through sites accommodate rigs up to 45 feet, while back-in sites handle 25-30 feet. The park features modern restrooms with showers, ADA-accessible facilities, a dump station, and drinking water throughout the campground. Each campsite includes a picnic table, fire pit, and grill. A sandy swimming beach, boat launch ramp, fish cleaning station, and scenic hiking opportunities round out the recreational amenities. The reservoir supports rainbow trout and largemouth bass fishing, with water skiing, wakeboarding, kayaking, and paddleboarding popular during warmer months. Nearby attractions include Flaming Gorge National Recreation Area and numerous dinosaur-related sites in the Vernal area. The park requires AIS certification for all watercraft to maintain mussel-free status.
