Kaler Hollow Campground is a small, primitive camping area located at the north end of Taylor Mountain Plateau in Ashley National Forest. The campground features 4 tent-only sites suitable for those seeking a quieter, more rustic experience. The historic Old Carter Military Trail passes directly by the campground, offering excellent hiking opportunities for those interested in exploring the area's history and natural beauty. OHV enthusiasts will appreciate that off-highway vehicle use is permitted in the areas both north and south of the campground. The Forest Service provides a free detailed map showing areas open to unrestricted OHV use. For those interested in spelunking, the Big Brush Creek Cave is located in the vicinity, though visitors should contact the Forest Service for current information about exploration. Located approximately 20 miles north of Vernal on US 191, then 11.5 miles northwest on Forest Road 018, the campground sits in a remote setting perfect for those looking to escape crowds and enjoy the natural surroundings of the Ashley National Forest. This is a first-come, first-served facility with no advance reservations available.
