About

Red Fleet State Park sits in the heart of Utah's Dinosaurland region, approximately 10 miles north of Vernal along Highway 191. The park centers on Red Fleet Reservoir, framed by striking red Navajo sandstone outcrops that inspired its name. This scenic destination combines outdoor recreation with paleontological discovery. The campground features 29 sites, all equipped with tables, grills, and firepits. Sites 19-21 offer electrical and water hookups for RVs, while other sites accommodate both RVs and tents. The park has recently completed major upgrades including a renovated campground, expanded day-use area, and additional parking. A boat ramp provides access to the reservoir, though water levels can affect operations. Anglers fish for largemouth bass, bluegill, rainbow trout, and brown trout. The park's signature attraction is a hiking trail leading to 200-million-year-old dinosaur tracks preserved in the sandstone. Additional amenities include a swimming beach, fish cleaning stations, dump station, and picnic facilities. Red Fleet serves as an excellent base camp for exploring nearby Dinosaur National Monument and other regional attractions in the Uinta Basin.
