About

Steel Bridge Group Campground provides old-fashioned, rustic camping in a narrow valley flanked by National Forest land in Craig County, Virginia. The campground features three unpaved, well-shaded campsites along a single dirt road that parallels Potts Creek. Sites are color-coded: Red and Blue each accommodate up to 25 people and 10 vehicles, while White handles up to 10 people and 3 vehicles. Potts Creek, adjacent to the campground, is a stocked trout stream offering fishing opportunities, a small swimming hole, and numerous rock ledges and small waterfalls to explore. Each group area contains a fire ring and picnic tables. There is no potable water, electricity, or hookups, and cell service is unavailable. Historic Paint Bank, Virginia is a scenic three-mile drive away, and New Castle is about 25 minutes out. The area is subject to flooding, so campers should monitor conditions. Bear safety food storage requirements are in effect.
