Staunton River Battlefield State Park Picnic Shelter is a day-use rental facility located at the historic Civil War battlefield site in Halifax County, Virginia. The shelter accommodates up to 90 people and is available for rental from 9 a.m. to dusk between April 1 and November 1. This is explicitly a day-use only park with no overnight camping permitted. The shelter includes grills, picnic tables, and access to restrooms inside the visitor center when it is open (Saturday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.). The park itself is open daily from 8 a.m. to dusk. Campers seeking overnight accommodations should note that Staunton River State Park, which offers camping and cabins, is located approximately 20 minutes away.
