St. Johns Landing Group Center is a historic group camping facility located within Saint Croix State Park, Minnesota's largest state park spanning over 34,000 acres. Originally built by the Civilian Conservation Corps between 1938 and 1939 as part of the St. Croix Recreational Demonstration Area, this center was specifically designed as a group camp for girls and has been preserved as a historic structure. The facility is one of three group centers in the park, all connected by over 30 miles of roads. Saint Croix State Park offers exceptional outdoor recreation opportunities with access to two major waterways: the Saint Croix River, designated as a National Scenic Riverway, and the Kettle River, a State Wild and Scenic River. The park features an extensive trail network with 127 miles of hiking trails, 21 miles of mountain biking trails, 75 miles of horseback riding trails, and a 5.5-mile paved bike trail. Winter activities include cross-country skiing on 11 miles of groomed trails and snowmobiling on 80 miles of trails. The group center operates on a seasonal basis and must be reserved directly through the park office, as it is not available through the standard Minnesota state park reservation system. The historic nature of the buildings and the park's remote wilderness setting make this an ideal destination for groups seeking an authentic outdoor experience in one of Minnesota's premier natural areas.
