About

St. Johns Landing Group Center sits along Crooked Creek in St. Croix State Park, Minnesota's largest state park at over 34,000 acres. Built by Civilian Conservation Corps workers in 1938-1939, the center preserves the rustic architecture and craftsmanship of the New Deal era. The facility includes 28 primitive cabins organized into four villages, with most accommodating eight people and a few designed for two or seven. None of the cabins have electricity or heat, maintaining their historic character. The heart of the facility is a dining hall with capacity for 100 people, featuring a commercial kitchen stocked with plates, cups, and utensils for 125 guests, plus a restroom. Fire rings and picnic tables are available on the grounds. The maximum overnight capacity is 125 people. St. Johns Landing is one of three group centers at St. Croix State Park, though it is currently operated as a residential camp for the Minnesota Conservation Corps rather than being available for public group reservations. The other two group centers at the park, Head of the Rapids and Norway Point, remain available for public booking seasonally from mid-May through September.
