About

Riverview Campground is one of three family campgrounds in St. Croix State Park, Minnesota's largest state park encompassing over 34,000 acres. The campground offers a variety of site types including electric sites, non-electric sites, and walk-in campsites, providing options for RVs, campers, and tent campers. All sites are bordered by hiking trails and a paved bike trail, creating easy access to the park's extensive trail network. The campground's multi-purpose building houses restrooms, showers, and a cooking shelter. The Sundance hiking trail system extends directly from the campground area, offering immediate access to scenic trails through aspen, jack pine, and conifer forests. Campers are within walking distance of the historic St. Croix Lodge built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1935, the interpretive center, camp store, ranger station, and the beautiful St. Croix River. St. Croix State Park features two spectacular rivers: the St. Croix River, a National Scenic Riverway, and the Kettle River, a State Wild and Scenic River. The park offers extensive recreational opportunities including fishing for northern pike, walleye, bass and panfish, canoeing, wildlife viewing, and over 100 miles of trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding, and winter activities. The park's 100-foot tall fire tower, built in 1937 by the CCC, provides panoramic views above the treeline.

Directions

From Hinckley, Minnesota, take Highway 48 east for approximately 15 miles. Turn right onto St. Croix Park Road and continue for about 3 miles to reach the campground.
