Old Logging Trail Campground

Open — Open year-round with advance reservations required through the Minnesota DNR reservation system.

About

Located in Minnesota's largest state park, Old Logging Trail Campground provides 90 non-electric campsites in a peaceful setting surrounded by mature jack pines. The campground offers a more rustic camping experience while still providing convenient amenities including a restroom and shower building. Campers are within walking distance of the St. Croix River, a National Scenic Riverway, as well as the historic St. Croix Lodge and Interpretive Center built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1935. The campground serves as an excellent base for exploring Saint Croix State Park's extensive trail system, including 127 miles of hiking trails and a 5.5-mile paved bike path. The sites are arranged in a more open layout compared to other campgrounds in the park, offering good spacing between sites. With access to both the St. Croix River and Kettle River, visitors can enjoy canoeing, fishing, and wildlife viewing. Winter activities include cross-country skiing and snowshoeing on park trails.

Directions

From Hinckley, MN, take State Highway 48 east for approximately 23 miles to the park entrance. Follow park signs to the Old Logging Trail Campground.
